“Contemporary Abstract”
Although I enjoy all forms of art and sewing, my favorite art mediums are oil, colored pencils, and pottery. Abstractions are my favorite way of expression in oils. My abstracts include stitchery with yarn, putting two pieces of canvas together, fringing the canvas, and upon occasion I even stuff the canvas. The surface of the canvas helps to dictate the direction of the painting. Colored pencils are easy to transport and provide an outlet for realism.
I am enjoying the art community in New Mexico, and even though I haven’t been in New Mexico very long, I have served as President of the Rio Grande Art Association for two years, Vice President of the Colored Pencil Society chapter in New Mexico and am now the program co-chairman for the CPSA #219.
My paintings have been juried into many shows, including MasterWorks of New Mexico, Encantada, and Colored Pencil exhibitions.
